Good thing number two with living in Gothenburg, Sweden is, even though the winters are pretty much monkey poop and the people are shyer than any other culture's most introvert people, that there are great possibilities to flee the country for a day without breaking the bank.
A few click and we had booked our trip to
COPENHAGEN,
DENMARK
DENMARK
a day for photographing, increasing our HRC-pin collection
and losing Felicia's Christiania virginity - entering the grounds, we mean!
....?
The day in pictures, are you ready?
The day started early; at quarter past six, we were up and getting ready for our departure from Gothenburg central station with the Nettbuss-bus leaving at 7.30 am. We stacked the backpacks filled with instaxfilm and sandwiches, treated our hairs with a few strokes with the brush and off we went.
...Had we only known beforehand the bus would be sixty-five minutes late, we could have slept another hour...
But we cashed that sleeping time in during the four hour drive, along with a compensation from Nettbuss of 500 sek for our next trip. All is well that ends well or how does the old saying go?
Arriving in Denmark's capital one bus ride later, we were a tad drowsy, a tinsy bit hungry but mostly, very excited to start the exploring.
Of course, Felicia cant possibily be in a city with a Disney Store without visiting it, so our first task was to stroll down STRÖGET until we found it.
STROLLING STRÖGET
Do you see it? When Felicia saw it, she jumped up and down.
______________
PICTURE PERFECT NYHAVN
From Ströget, the walk to Nyhavn is hardly complicated - we just followed the stream of people looking like tourists (and when that felt uncertain, asked Google Maps).
The way to Nyhavn was a labyrith of gray construction areas, which made the entering-Narnia-feeling even greater when finally arriving at the dock.
Nyhavn is a truly visually satisfying place, as iconically as portrayed on any Copenhagen postcard, and there we parked ourselves on the quayside, turned our faces to the sun and eternalized the moment by being present in it.

We sat down there for hours, (or minutes? time flies); just chilled, talked, tanned. We only mananged to loose the camera lens cover once, so that was still a win. A girl our own age called Felicia mam' which she did not approve of. The restaurants were too full and the temperature too hot to sit there and eat, so we paused time for a bit, played around with angles and facial expressions, and then our tummies told us to move forward.
______________
TO CHRISTIANIA WE GO
We've heard the rumours, so of course, we had to go. Beforehand, Jonathan warned that we might not be able to take photos while inside this little out-law society, but we still hoped to make some visual proof of the excursion.
Actually, we had a real mission as well: the main reason for going there was so Felicia could learn to identify the smell of weed, as she, even though living in one of Gothenburg's more.. liberal parts for five year, is unable to tell the difference between ordinary cigarettes and... party ones.
Did we succed in sneak photographing and marijana-identificaion?
Well. We had to cross a bridge first.
Riddicoulus, how much it felt like being in a movie. We had no weather could make you feel like this. Been in Sweden though a whole long horrible dark winter does things to a person.
Buy a share in Christiania anyone?
So yeah, there were places were you could sneak in some photographing, but in all, we were too busy taking the whole place in to mope about the fact that we couldn't show you guys all the semi-illegal this going on there here on Suitcasepacking.
You better take a hike down there yourselves and live it...?
______________
We had plans to go to Tivoli because of our free entrence via Liseberg staff access cards, but alcohol felt more important, especially when we timed Happy Hour at Hard Rock perfectly. With three 2 for 1-cocktails each in our systems, we said thank you and goodbye to Denmark for this time, more than 100 % sure we will be back soon.
