GETTING SICK IN THAILAND

We though our bad luck should stay in Railay. It had to!
We had gone through so much by then, having paradise ruined and all, so we thought we deserved a smooth path for once.

Well...you probalby know us well enough by now to guess what next sentence will be:

WELL...WE THOUGHT WRONG

Yeah, there it is. You knew it right?

SURVIVING RAILAY

Last year, coming home from Asia, I could tell a story about how Railay stole my heart.

This time, sitting on the boat on our way to Koh Lanta, recapsing the last couple of days in my head, I knew I had a different story to tell:

THE STORY ABOUT HOW I STOLE MY HEART
BACK FROM RAILAY

(spoileralert: it's a downer)

(but the pix are somewhat pretty)

TALES OF ASIA: Day 13-16

What have we been up to since our last entry, you might ask yourselves. You might walk around at home, anxiously pacing back and forth trying to wrap your head around what we'll do next.

Well, worry no more. Here's a recaps.

ON THE TOP OF DOI INTHANON

Oh, what a beautiful day this was.

We were on a daytrip in DOI INTHANON NATIONAL PARK,
situated about an hour from Chiang Mai centre. We were picked up at our hotel and driven around the national park for a whole day, but the highlight was no doubt the beautiful temples, this breathtaking sight of the King and Queen Pagoda, iconically placed on the top of a mountain, close to the absolute highest spot in Thailand.

VISITING ELEPHANT NATURE PARK

WARNING!
If you don't like heaps and loads of pictures of the most magnificent animal walking on our planet, this ain't your post. If you on the other hand requested it, e.g you are my sister, you're in for a treat.

OUR STAY IN RABEANG PASAK TREEHOUSE

We've spent the last couple of days being closer to the nature than Jonathan ever been while camping with the boyscouts as a kid.
Kind of.

WE HAVE STAYED IN A TREEHOUSE!

CLIMBING BUA THONG

WHAT:
A three floor waterfall where you can climb all the way through it due to the un-slippery limestones (thereof the name).

TALES OF ASIA: Day 4 - 6

Hi there. Long time no see hah?
We've been good. We've been lazy. We've been parking our butts on the sunbeds besides the pool.
That is, of course, after we'd fixed that
we've been

really

really

stupid.

MISTAKE NUMBER #3:

NOT DOUBLE-CHECKING WHAT AIRPORT
THE FLIGHT IS ACTUALLY LEAVING FROM

And I cant stress this enough unless you're walking around with 2380 THB you just HAVE to throw away on something completely unneccesary.

TALES OF ASIA: Day 2 & 3

Let's recap the last couple of days in Bangkok's overwhelming heat.

And also, is it humanly possible to be this tired and not having fallen asleep standing yet?
The jetlag, or whatever it might be by this time, is making us old, making us go to bed at 8 o'clock or take an afternoon nap inbetween rounds on town.

ART IN PARADISE BANGKOK

WHAT:
An art museum where profile pictures are created, silly poses are striked and a few hours easily fly by.

TALES OF ASIA: Day 1

Finally comes the twilight of what seems to be the longest day of our lives. Although, I can't say for sure since day and night and time in general now seems like a myth someone once told me about.

There is supposed to be a complex system with concrete rules on how many sunsets you can have in a day? Fascinating!
