HOTEL REVIEW: iCheck Inn Mayfair Pratunam, Bangkok

In Bangkok, we stayed at iCheck Inn Mayfair Pratunam for 3 nights. Here's what we thought about the place.

ROOM:
Very good! Superclean, had both TV, desk, fridge, safety deposit, complementary water...

BED:
A little hard, to be frank. We are not the ones who usually cares but even we thought it was a little uncomfortable to lay on the side.

SERVICE:
Very friendly staff. Spoke good English and were very helpful.

CLEANING:
Absolutely perfect. Left nothing to wish for.

BATHROOM:
Good, clean. Shower took some time to get warm, that's the only thing that was not top notch. Shower gel and conditoning shampoo provided.

BREAKFAST:
Served 6-10. The first morning we got up by nine and by that time, it was almost nothing left. They did refill after about 15 minutes, but only a few of the things served. The next morning we went down one hour earlier and by then it was better.

Had some hot dishes (typical Asian hotel breakfast) and also tea, coffee, bread, cereals...

Nothing special but still, we didn't have to go hungry.

Breakfast area a few hours after

INTERNET:
Good at most times. Sometimes we had trouble, meaning it took a looong time, to upload pictures to the blog and some flashplayer sites also took a long time to load, but overall, it worked without problems.

NEIGHBOURHOOD:
Ok. Jonathan did not like it since he felt unsecure walking outside the hotel when dark, but I did not mind, although the surroundings were indeed a little shabby and many of the buildings were under constructon. Very close to both interchange station Phaya Thai and walking distance to Phetchaburi road, but a little hard to find the hotel at first.

If you walk alongside the BTS in direction against the airport, you're on the right way.

SUMMARY:
Since Bangkok is crazy hot, we would have enjoyed a pool. But for the price, the location, the overall standard... We could not complain.

WE RECOMMEND IT TO: People on a budget that still want a clean, sufficient place to stay, that want closeness to BTS and Siam area (four or more shopping centers in walking distance from Siam staton) and that think that comfort is luxury in itself.
