We've spent the last couple of days being closer to the nature than Jonathan ever been while camping with the boyscouts as a kid.
Kind of.
WE HAVE STAYED IN A TREEHOUSE!
Yaay!
With functioning water system, private rooftop terrass, meals served 3 times a day and internet reached from certain spots of the tree, so, yeah but no, maybe not 'wilderness explorers'-style just yet.
I found this pearl while drooling over travel-porn on Pinterest a long long time ago. It's been listed on both Buzzfeed and Skyscanner as 'One of the most unique hotels in the world' several times, and it quickly made its way to my "Places I Wanna Go"-board, which make it so much more epic to actually have been there.
When planning this entry, we disgusted to minimize the text and maximize the pictures, but, knowing me, an entry completely without text is just never going to happen. So let's start the pictures from here and adding some comments along the way.
This was our house. It's a two-person cottage called Jackfruit House, with a rooftop terass, bathtub with hot and cold water, fan and a big bed covering most of the room.
Even our key was unique!
It also came with complementary cat and cat lift.
Unfortunatly, they asked us to return the cat, to Jonathan's big dismay, and to never use the basket for any living thing.
Well... you win some you loose some....
The surroundings were a part of a own little world, with animals running around everywhere and a rippling river to frame it all.
We woke up in perfect time for dinner.
And this, my friends, is a rare rare thing you'll see here below, you see...
This is a photo of The Best Meal Ever In The History Of Eating.
Remember me saying somewhere these last entrys that we have not been eating? That's a lie. We have been eating. Breakfast. And 12 hours later: thai-sized dinner. So maybe it was the fact that we ate this like it was our first meal in weeks, or maybe it was because we had climbed Bua Thong earlier that day, but we went to bed at the same time the four-year old girl living in the treehouse next to us left dinner area, and probably slept like her too.

The next morning we went up 8 o'clock and jumped on the bikes free of charge for treehouse guests, and started exploring the area - with careful instructions from Pinn (the employee with the best English we've heard in all of Thailand) and a map. Pinn told us there was no water in the nearby lake or the waterfall, due to last years drought, so we skipped that.
Instead, we headed to the
BAT CAVE
Jonathan was really impressed and I was really scared, like a scary movie clichée. We both enjoyed it though - and didn't get rabies.
RED SAND DUNES
and ended our forest adventure with the
STALAGMITE CAVE
where the camera died and we were quite sweaty and ready for lunch anyway.
which was awesome as always.

That evening, we took our feet and drove to a place where you could see the sunset over the Chiang Mai-ian hillside.
We are easily impressed so it's up to you to decide whether or not this was scenic.

We do recommend everyone to visit Rabeang Pasak Treehouse.
Except for the concept being quite unique, the staff was genuine and friendly and helpful, and at the same time made you feel like your were their personal guests.
Not all, if any, hotels or resorts have a service like this one.
