11 AWESUME THINGS WE DID IN SINGAPORE

Arriving in Singapore, we had a looong list of tips and things to do, provided by Mona, mostly, but also our dear friend Pinterest.

We had 6 days, 5 nights, simply too much to do, too little time. There's no point in procastinate anything now, is there? So let's just dig in to it.

SPENT A DAY IN
- MOVIE UTOPIA -

Julia turned 21 while we were in here, and how do you think a family of theme park-freaks celebrate birthdays, if there's so much as a themed anything nearby?

THEY GO TO UNIVERSAL STUDIOS!

Now that is a theme park-smile

Universal is situated on Sentosa Island which you'll reach if you take purple or circle line to Harbourfront. From there you can easily walk over to Sentosa, just follow Sentosa Broadwalk.

If you're not a movie geek, there is plenty of other things to do on this man.made island. We went

HAD A BADASS
BIRTHDAY SUNDAE
AT HARD ROCK CAFE SENTOSA

Julia turned 21, as you may recall, and I had an urge for chocolate. Kill two birds with one stone right?

It was the most satisfying thing I've ever eaten three quaters of. I had to give in in the end because this thing was MASSIVE.

DRANK FROM A
GOBLET OF FIRE

Although not officially Harry Potter themed due to lack of copyrights, restaurant Platform 1094 has a lot of none official magic drinks and props that will definity lead your thoughts towards Hogwarts.

Julia went full witch and inhaled this flaming potion called Mr Lich's Flaming Brew, whereas I stayed on the safe side and drank something an alchemist threw together. I think the magic ingredient was vodka...

There is even robes so you can feel like a real student at Hogwarts.
"I want to be diplomatic", Julia said
and put on one item of clothing from every house.

I wonder though if they have the rights to names such as Ravenclaw and Gryffindor at the robes but I guess I'll never know...

HAD A 'FIKA' IN
WONDERLAND

Quite tired and filled with impressions from our first day there, we slowly strolled homewards when we happend upon this gem. Not only were they Alice in Wonderland-theme, they were also specialized in waffles and home made ice cream. With the Lunar New Year approaching, we simply had to try their celebratory ice cream flavour pineapple tart and after doing so, we started to wish it was newyears year-round.

HIKED OUR ASSES OF
IN THE HEAT

The Axelsson sister's like their suspension bridges, as you might recall from this fabulous post. This was hidden in a 5 km long walk in MacRitchie park.

We jumped off at Caldecott MRT station and began walking. The heat was almost unbearable.

Julia was deeply satisfied with finally weeing real life monkey.

Well, that was until...

...DEVILMONKEY TOOK JULIA'S LUNCH!!

TOURISTED LIKE CRAZY
AROUND MARINA BAY

You can NOT go to Singapore and not see the skyline made by Marina Bay Sands Hotel.
You know, a lot of things are illegal in Singapore and visiting the country without seing this might actually be one of them.

If you walk from Raffles place towards the great three-legged silhouette, you'll also pass Esplanade, in which you'll pass this durian fruit shaped building which is the Esplanade Theatre.

It's important to find ones light.

STROLLED IN THE
CHINESE GARDENS

Since the population of Singapore is 75% Chinese (according to Wikipedia), we thought it best to embrace not only the food culture but also pay a visit to the Chinese Gardens.

Well, it was free. So...

Pretty cool still. Good warm-up for Shanghai in a couple of weeks.

Julia shows the latest kind of exercise - Dabbing up the stairs of a Chinese Templeᵀᴹ

The view was pretty nice though.

SHOPPED, SHOPPED,
SHOPPED SOME MORE...

YES I'm currently on a ZERO SHOPPING-diet since my bag is already obese but... my foundation ran out. And my lipstick was not the right red when my skin had gone a nuans darker. And you can't walk around in the land of pantsuits without having a proper wardrobe.

Most definitely, you cant pass a shirt like this and be Felicia and not buy it. Disneyland Shanghai in a month. That's justification enough.

Newly showered but who has time for drying when there's disneyized selfies to take and send to everyone you know?

DIED, LIKE, A LOT OF TIMES
IN THE HEAT

Might not be an 'awesume thing' (is the name of this post perhaps a clickbait? Naaah would I ever do that to you guys...) but that is for sure one thing we did do. Singapore is crazy humid. Our Swedish skins, used to minus degrees, were not prepared for the heat waves which made us hyperlazy at times.

That called for a lot of Fika-pauses though....

Krispy Kreme,
if I ever love a boy like I love you
I ought to marry him straight away

ATE AT LEAST A DOZEN OF
SWEDISH PANCAKES
FOR BREAKFAST

Oh the luxury of having a fridge. We took full advantage of  from that from day one by storing up on eggs, milk, butter, fresh fruit. From there we were only one package of flour away from eating breakfast all five days for a mere 3 S$ per person.

And people say it's impossible to live cheap in Singapore...

And last but definitely not least...

COMBINED OUR PASSIONS AT
ART/SCIENCE MUSEUM

Last day, our plane to Bangkok did not leave until 10 pm. so we had some last hours to enjoy Singapore. What were we supposed to do with that time?

CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE REST OF  THE PICTURES?

Also, we became regulars at Krispy Kreme, we ate a lot of dumplings, we laughed, like, a lot, we boomeranged, we enjoyed the accessibility and we had a great time in general.

SINGAPORE TRULY DELIVERED.
