UWAJIMAYA MARKET

DAY 14
Yesterday was the last day in Seattle, a week we finished of with great fanfare by eating our way through Theo Chocolate Factory in the midday, and eating our way through Uwajimaya Asian Market in the evening.

We had gotten a lot of recommendations on going there, but frankly, after having spent 4 months in Asia in the last two years, I personally wasn't that impressed. We went, we saw, we ate a lot of Hawaiian food (please tell me why Hawaiian is served on a asian market?) that was kind of to die for, so at least that part was a success. I brought two books for the horrible looong car ride back to Vancouver, and then we went home to sleep.

Foreigners always get so impressed that you can drive your way from Gothenburg, Sweden to Copenhagen, Denmark in less then 4 hours. I get equally impressed that the drive from Seattle, U.S.A back to Vancouver, Canada took not more than 3 hours, boarder control and all. I was prepared for a full day in the car, having brought new books and all (Two boys kissing and Another day, both by David Levithan, by the way) for this occasion but I barely got to the third chapter.

Victor didn't flip nearly as much this drive, maybe because he didn't have to sit in the middle in the back seat. We stayed at McDonalds half way through and added like half on hour to the trip, but even that went smoothly. I got to say I'm quite tired of McDonalds now though, but Victor can't seem to get enough.

ANYHOW, we left Seattle this morning and arrived to the air bnb-place in early evening, but with my family being what it is, there was no time for more than grocery shopping, eating and trying to figure out a plan for the next couple of days. We have a wedding saturday and a family grill party tomorrow, but other than that we are quite free and flexible.

If you know anything we havn't yet done in Vancouver that we should, this is the time to shout it!

Other than that I heard the weather in Gothenburg
is what it is every summer:

wet and awful

Oh what a pity...
